Tips

JUNE

Tips supplied by Wade and Ernestine Woodall

  • Start seeds of flowers and vegetables to be ready for setting out in August and September.
  • Prune hydrangeas after blooming.
  • Water warm-season grasses every couple of weeks if it does not rain.
  • Mulch valuable trees and shrubs, but not more than 3-4 inches deep, and keep 6 inches from trunks.
  • Deadhead spent annuals for more bloom and cut back some annuals to encourage bushing.
  • Inspect house plants, which have been set, for insect contamination.
