Some gardening tips for container plantings:

  • For container gardening, be sure to use a good potting soil that is coarse enough to provide good drainage.
  • When creating containers, be sure to leave two or three inches of room at the top of pot to hold water. Minus the extra space, water will run off the soil and not soak in.
  • When watering plants in container, be sure to saturate the soil. Plants have deep roots and will soon wilt.
  • Any container or hanging basket may need to be watered twice a day in the heat.
  • Containers and hanging baskets should also be fertilized with a water soluble fertilizer at least every two weeks.
